Description

Designed by Derry Jackson, the OR statements puts the investigator and the problem into context.  By flowing through the logic in the Or Statements, the work with present itself, and thus the answers.

When confronting a math problem, note the 1st of four layers causes you to frame the problem, by observing the givings and whats is requested.  You will find that of the FOUR doors, yours will fall squarely into one, eg, Solving v. Simplifying, etc.  Then you drop to the 2nd layer, where you will find that in order to proceed, either constructing (bringing the givens together, as in simplifying) or deconstructing (breaking the givens apart, eg. factoring) is the next most logical step. The 3rd layer is truly all we do in mathematics, we are either adding (sums) or its subtracting (differences), or multiplying (scaling/factoring upwards) or its opposite, dividing (scaling/factoring across or down).  But at any time in math, beyond the thoughts, the actions in all of mathematics are limited to just these FOUR ACTIONS (operation [operators]). Finally, the 4th layer is simply the the rules associated with PEMDAS or (to help those struggling) PEDMAS, Derry Jackson’s invention as a training-wheel apparatus to assist novice investigators struggling with always multiplying first, regardless, or adding, etc.  Here, he simply reverse the D (division) and M (Multiplication), stressing that either is in play always, depending on who is leading (left-most), and that the same principle applies for S (subtraction).  It just that these are no cutesy acronyms available for playing around with the sums and differences.
